The school

The school was opened in 1952 as an Infant School. Two extra classrooms were added at the rear of the school, one when it became a First School and another in 1987. In September of 2002 the school became a Primary School. This led to three additional classrooms, a Foundation Stage unit, an ICT Suite and a new playing field being added to the school.

In addition to delivering the full National Curriculum we also pride ourselves on the opportunities we offer to children beyond the formal curriculum. As your child progresses through the school he/she will be offered an increasing range of activities. They include:

  • Various extra curricular activities at different times of the year
  • A range of dramatic and musical performances for parents/carers
  • Performances/workshops for the children by theatrical organisations
  • Sports coaching by qualified coaches
  • Swimming tuition at Hadrian Leisure Swimming Pool for Year 5
  • A weekend visit to an outdoor centre for Year 6
